OSS – Growing rapidly is great but it has its challenges.  Especially, when it concerns the storage and transportation of chemicals. There are strict legal requirements and controls. Accompanying documents  are required to include a UN- number, ADR-points, tunnel codes and many other data. The company Actu-all, wholesaler in chemicals, found solutions to get all these requirements under control.

‘The fire department needs to be able to see what dangerous substances are stored in what quantities and at what locations at any time of the day. These substances are classified into 9 categories, each with their own demands concerning  storage and transport, says Bert Snoeijink, technical director of the company. He and his team have been on quite a quest to get all this done.

Actu-All Chemicals B.V. has grown 5 times bigger since 2018. Suitable ADR storage locations were strategically rented throughout the Netherlands.‘ Our products are used in the production and the control of food , the control of drinking water and for example the disposal of waste’, adds Gisela, the back office manager. ‘We also manufacture a large number of customer- specific products.’

A pathway to control and transparent documentation

Gisela and Bert would like a clear overview of the current stock at all locations. Moreover, they need documentation that meets all legal requirements. No more manual labour, just simply an easy and faultless system. ‘Since this year we have fallen under the umbrella of BioKEMIX’, says Bert. ‘Our systems must connect seamlessly. Some substances cannot be stored in one location. Sometimes a separation must be made between chemicals that are in the same class.’

Gisela adds: ‘It was an interesting puzzle. How will our products arrive at our customers with the correct documents and with the appropriate type of transport? What (legally required) information do we put on the bill of lading, the delivery or packing slip, for instance, and where?’

‘Tell me how you would like it’

No fixed structure to choose from,  but a customer-oriented  solution  for all their wishes and demands.  Clearly legible documents on which all necessary data are automatically collated. That is what Gisela and Bert could find at software company Acconet.

In addition to Exact online the application T-Box Intercompany Logistics  provides a connection of all the necessary information. ‘Apart from  achieving a very satisfying result we were also incredibly impressed with the enthusiasm and no-nonsense approach we encountered at Acconet. We simply got on very well.’
