Since its founding in 2015, 4blue has grown into an innovative wholesaler of solar energy systems. The company experienced rapid growth, but in recent years, the market has become increasingly challenging, with demand for solar panels declining. Instead of standing still, 4blue proactively sought new opportunities for growth.

From Ambition to Reality

"The ambition to expand internationally had always been there," says Jaap Steinvoorte, IT Manager at 4blue. "But due to the shifting market, we accelerated our exploration of international opportunities. This eventually led to the establishment of a sales office and webshop in Germany."

However, crossing borders brought new challenges. Germany has specific legislation and regulations around taxation and business operations, which made a separate administration essential. 4blue decided to continue using Exact Online, just as they did in the Netherlands. This resulted in two separate administrative environments and two Exact licenses—one Dutch, one German. But how do you ensure these separate systems can communicate seamlessly?

The Solution: A Smart Integration by T-Box

To ensure smooth operations between the Dutch and German administrations, 4blue implemented the Intercompany Logistics integration from T-Box. This solution automatically transfers incoming orders from the German Exact environment into the Dutch administration. But the integration does more than just synchronize orders.

In addition to processing orders, the integration also manages receipts, deliveries, and invoicing.

As a result, the entire process between the two administrations is largely automated. This not only saves time but also significantly reduces the risk of manual input errors. "In essence, the integration ensures that nearly the entire order process between both administrations is handled automatically," Jaap explains. And all of this takes place in the background, allowing 4blue to fully focus on their growth—without being burdened by complex administrative processes.

How Was the Collaboration with T-Box?

Jaap: "Through my network, I was tipped off about T-Box as a potential solution for our expansion into Germany. From the very first meetings, it was clear that we were approaching the challenge from different perspectives. Our technical specialist had a very specific vision, while the T-Box consultant brought his own clear strategy on how to best tackle the implementation. At first, it felt like we were speaking different languages, which made collaboration challenging. But it was exactly those conversations—and our openness to each other’s insights—that ultimately led us to a solution that turned out to be even better than what we initially had in mind."
